One of the biggest cause of street pollution is the smoke from cars and trucks. Littering and the disposal of waste on roads is increasing this problem. Since the air quality is poor, we breathe in harmful substances that can worsen respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and allergies expecially for children and aged people.

In Houston, an industrial hub, factories and refineries release many pollutants in to air and has led to frequent air quality violations. This pollution not only affects the health of residents but also contributes to climate change.

I have a hard time when I ride my bike to school. Sometimes there’s a lot of smoke in the air, and it makes my allergies really bad. My nose gets stuffy, and I start coughing. I wish the air was cleaner so I could ride my bike without feeling sick. It would be really nice if we could do something to make the air better so everyone can breathe easier!
