Chemical Farming and Health Risks in India's Remote Communities

Living in a not so remote hamlet in India, where the so called air quality indices are supposedly great, I have seen people being subject to lot of health issues mainly those related to the respiratory system. The reason being unethical and unscientific use of pesticides, insecticides and chemical fertilizers. It's very common in remote areas here to have residential complexes adjacent to farmlands and agrarian areas. Also, the government regulations and laws are not enforced duly and this combined with lack of awareness among the people who administer them creates a critical social hazard. The people who are subject to breathing the air polluted by the above mentioned, develop severe allergic reactions, nausea and are prone to lung damage. This also affects the entire ecosystem in such areas and leads to the extinction of many a flora and fauna native to those areas. Another critical factor are the health hazards that arise due to consuming the produces whose growth is enhanced  by such chemical products
